OUR CROPS
In 2012 we ordered seeds and started planting the first berry bushes on Ingarö. Every year, the cultivation, our interest in it and our knowledge have grown bigger and bigger. Today, we grow berries and vegetables in two dozen pallet collars and our shrubs and trees give us more than 20 different kinds of berries.
In the spring of 2021, we were generously allowed to lease land to cultivate at Bergviks Gård on Ingarö, 5 minutes from our own garden. Here, we grow cabbage varieties, root vegetables, zucchini, eggplant, beans, tomatoes, herbs, lettuce, strawberries and wild strawberries in the open field, and of course, we plan the menu based on what is available.
In 2023, a nice little greenhouse was finally built in the courtyard at DoMa. There, we grow cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs, and edible flowers.
During the fall, mushroom picking in the Stockholm area and apple picking in the gardens of DoMa's friends are recurring weekend activities. This year's picking generated 182 liters of must that will keep us self-sufficient until next late summer.
During the winter we only have preserved and frozen fruit and berries from Ingarö. Until spring and early summer get going, we buy fantastic vegetables from, among others, Mia at Lilla Labäck outside Lidköping and Skilleby Trädgård outside Järna. On the menu you can read more about what ingredients are from our own farms right now.
